About Mobility Directory
The UK and Ireland's dedicated community platform for mobility equipment, accessible vehicles and disability services.
Who We Are
Mobility Directory was built specifically for the UK and Ireland disability and mobility community. We are a dedicated platform that brings together disabled people, carers, families, charities, NHS services and mobility businesses into a single trusted space. Finding the right equipment, vehicle or service no longer means searching across dozens of unrelated websites.
Our mission is straightforward: to make it easier for disabled people, carers, families and healthcare professionals to find second-hand mobility equipment, wheelchair accessible vehicles and trusted local disability services, all in one place. We believe that access to mobility support should be simple, affordable and community-driven. Not frustrating, expensive or fragmented.
Mobility Directory covers every region of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland. Whether you are in Greater London or the Highlands of Scotland, in Dublin or Derry, in Cardiff or Cork. You will find listings, services and vehicles relevant to your area. Our regional coverage is one of the things that makes us different from general marketplace platforms, which rarely serve the disability and mobility community with any real focus or depth.
We are community-focused in the truest sense. Every listing on the platform is created by someone who wants to help another person. This might be a family passing on a wheelchair that a loved one no longer needs, a care home donating equipment they have replaced, or a mobility business listing their services so that people in their area can find them. The platform exists to connect those people, and to make that connection as easy and safe as possible.
Why We Built This
Mobility equipment is expensive. A powered wheelchair can cost thousands of pounds new. A stairlift can cost £3,000 or more. A ceiling track hoist, a rise-and-recline chair, a bath lift. The costs mount quickly, and for many disabled people and their families, those costs come at exactly the time when finances are already under pressure due to reduced ability to work, increased care costs and adaptations to the home.
The second-hand market for mobility equipment has always existed, but it has been scattered and difficult to navigate. Before Mobility Directory, the options were general platforms like eBay and Gumtree. These sites were never designed with the disability community in mind, that have no condition grading system suited to mobility equipment, no understanding of accessibility, and no specialist filtering for the things that matter most: adaptations, delivery suitability, wheelchair dimensions or power types.
Finding vetted local services is equally difficult. Whether you need a physiotherapist who specialises in neurological conditions, an occupational therapist who can carry out a home assessment, a local wheelchair repair specialist or a home adaptation company, the information is scattered across council websites, NHS directories and unannotated Google searches. Mobility Directory brings all of that into a single searchable, community-reviewed directory, organised by category, region and accessibility features.
We built Mobility Directory to solve all three of these problems in a single trusted platform, in a way that respects and serves the community it is built for.
What You Can Do Here
Mobility Directory is three platforms in one: an equipment marketplace, a vehicle marketplace, and a service directory. Each section is designed specifically for the mobility and disability community.
Equipment Marketplace
Buy, sell or donate second-hand mobility equipment including manual and powered wheelchairs, mobility scooters, ceiling track and mobile hoists, stairlifts, rise-and-recline chairs, bath lifts, shower chairs, walking frames, rollators, crutches, daily living aids, and home adaptation equipment such as ramps and grab rails.
Browse EquipmentVehicles Marketplace
Find wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAVs), adapted cars and converted minibuses from private sellers and dealers across the UK and Ireland. Our vehicle listings include detailed information about adaptations, including lowered floors, rear or side ramps, electric winches, swivel seats, hand controls and steering knobs.
Browse VehiclesService Directory
Discover vetted local providers including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, home adaptation specialists, wheelchair services, assistive technology suppliers, accessible transport providers, disability support services, care providers, advocacy organisations, employment support services and more.
Browse DirectoryOur Commitment to Accessibility
Mobility Directory is built for a community that experiences the consequences of inaccessible design every single day. That means accessibility is not a feature we added at the end. It is a core part of how the platform was designed from day one.
The platform includes built-in font scaling that allows any user to increase or decrease text size from 90% up to 200% using the controls at the top of every page. There is also a built-in high contrast mode, toggled from the same accessibility toolbar, which increases colour contrast across the entire interface for users with visual impairments.
Navigation is designed to be clear, consistent and predictable. Every page follows a consistent layout with logical heading structures. Images include descriptive text. Forms are labelled clearly. The platform works on all devices including smartphones and tablets.
We are committed to continuing to improve accessibility as the platform grows, and we welcome feedback from users about areas where we can do better.
